Iugu API: what it can do and how to use it with AI agents

Iugu is a Brazilian payments and billing platform. Its API lets you issue invoices, manage subscriptions and customers and receive payment notices. Service companies, SaaS businesses and platforms in Brazil with recurring billing or a marketplace use it. Access is by an account API token, with a test mode.

What an iTeam agent does with the Iugu API

Invoice copy without a queue

The customer asks for a copy of the invoice on WhatsApp, and the agent finds it and sends an updated boleto or Pix.

Collection schedule

The agent follows the schedule set by finance, with messages before and after the due date, and stops when the trigger confirms payment.

Suspended subscription with context

Before suspending for non-payment, the agent checks the history and proposes a negotiation within the approved rules.

Month-end close

Finance receives the month's paid, open and overdue invoices, with the total per plan.

01

Generate the tokens in Iugu

In the Iugu dashboard, create test and production tokens for the integration.

02

Store them in the iTeam vault

The tokens stay in the vault. Issuing an invoice copy can be automatic, while canceling and refunding require approval.

03

Test in test mode

Run invoices and triggers in test mode before using the production token.

Questions

Questions about the Iugu API

Is the Iugu API free?

In general the API is part of the service. The costs are the per-invoice and payment-method rates of the plan you have with Iugu.

Do I need to code to use the Iugu API with iTeam?

Not necessarily. iTeam's HTTP tool learns the endpoints from the documentation, and the deployment team sets up the collection schedule.

Does Iugu have a test environment?

Yes. There is a test mode with its own token to simulate invoices and payments.
