ADP API: what it can do and how to use it with AI agents

Access is not open: it depends on the product you have and on credentials issued by ADP to the company or partner. Mid-size and large companies that integrate payroll with other systems use it.

How to access the ADP API
- For partners and customersIt generally uses OAuth 2.0 with credentials issued by ADP and a digital certificate (mTLS). Access depends on the product and the contract.
- Employee and payroll data is personal and partly sensitive: apply the minimum necessary.
- Certificates expire and must be renewed.
- Payroll changes should always have human approval.

It depends on the contract. Access is granted according to the ADP product and may have its own commercial terms. Ask your ADP account manager.

Not necessarily. iTeam reads the documentation, and the deployment team sets up the integration with your HR and IT teams.
Can the agent change payroll data?
Not by default. The recommended use is lookups and task coordination. Changes stay with HR.
