Microsoft 365 integration with AI agents
Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's productivity suite, with Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint and OneDrive. Companies use it for e-mail, documents and collaboration. The agent connects through the Microsoft Graph API, with an app registered in the company's tenant, to work on authorized e-mail, calendars, files and channels.
What AI agents do with Microsoft 365
Shared inbox triaged
The agent reads the finance or sales mailbox in Outlook, classifies each e-mail, answers the simple ones and forwards the rest to the right person.
Meeting booked from Teams
Someone asks in Teams for a meeting with a customer, and the agent finds a common slot in the calendars, creates the invite and attaches the material.
Excel spreadsheet kept current
Reports that arrive by e-mail are read and consolidated in the Excel workbook on OneDrive or SharePoint, with no copying and pasting.
The agent as a colleague in Teams
The agent stays available in a Teams channel to answer questions about company processes and data, citing the source.

Questions about Microsoft 365 and AI agents
Does iTeam integrate with Microsoft 365?
Yes, through the Microsoft Graph API. The deployment team registers the app in your company's Entra ID with the required permissions, and the iTeam HTTP tool uses the documented endpoints.
Does IT control what the agent can access?
Yes. The app permissions are approved by the tenant administrator, and in iTeam each agent has its own scope, human approval and audit trail.
Is it the same thing as Copilot?
No. An iTeam agent has a defined role and process, and it also works with systems outside Microsoft, such as ERP and CRM.
